Your clothes should not only flatter you, but others. That's why it's important that you know which color combinations work and which ones don't.
This handy color combination chart shows you which colors go together well:

The rest of this article will introduce you to the basics of color coordination, give you the easiest color combinations to use, and look at each color on the spectrum to learn which colors go best with it.
The best color combinations for men's clothing.
When learning to match colors in clothing, the color wheel is a valuable tool. Once you become familiar with what the different colors look like and where they are placed on the wheel, you can easily create attractive color combinations.
The color wheel is a visual guide to the color spectrum. You can see how the different colors are related to each other by how far apart they are on the wheel. Understanding the clothing color wheel can help you as a beginner to create a balanced outfit.

Basics of color coordination.
First you need to learn the basics of color coordination. You should be familiar with the following terms:
- shadowsthey are colors in their purest and most vivid form. They are colors at their maximum intensity. You may know them as flashy colors.
- shadowsthey are tones mixed with white. You will know them as bright or pastel colors.
- metric tonsthey are tones mixed with black. You will know them as dark colors.
- metric tonsThey are tones that have been mixed with white and black, creating shades of gray. These are also known as muted colors.

When combining colors in your clothing, you should always look for contrast in the intensity of your colors.
Analogous color combinations
Analogous colors are found next to each other on the color wheel. You can easily tell when the colors are analogous because they are the most similar. These colors are easier to combine because they are so closely related. Just make sure the colors don't match.what's moreclosely as this creates a mismatched appearance.
Two colors with a subtle contrast appear deliberately combined. Two colors that look almost the same look like an accident.

Complementary Color Combinations
Complementary colors lie opposite each other on the color wheel. You have the strongest contrast between them.
Because complementary colors have such strong contrast, they are the boldest combination you can make, which can create color conflict if you combine two too strongly. The best way to combine complementary colors is to contrast their brightness. These colors look best together when one is darker, lighter, or softer than the other.

The split complement is the close cousin of complementary color combinations. Matching one color to the color next to its opposite on the wheel creates a slightly less intense contrast.
triadic color combinations
Triad colors are a combination of three colors that are evenly spaced on the color wheel. However, contrary to popular belief, you don't have to wear all three colors for this combination to work. You can choose two colors from a triad and use them together.
In fact, beginners should combine two triadic colors instead of trying to use all three, as this is more difficult to use and requires a trained eye.
Even with triple combos, be sure to apply some intensity contrast. They work best when one color is lighter or darker than the other.

monochrome color combinations
You can also combine colors that belong to the same tone but differ in intensity. This creates a monochrome ensemble. For example, combine a light blue with a dark blue or a soft green with a light green.

What colors go with everything?
Some of the best colors to match your outfit are not colors. They are called neutrals.
Neutral colors like white, gray, and black go with just about anything because they're achromatic. In the fashion world, navy blue, brown, and khaki (and sometimes olive green and light blue) are also considered neutrals because they pair well with other colors.

While all neutral colors have some limitations, as we'll discuss later, you can use them to create easy combinations with other colors.
What colors go with red clothes?
Red looks great when paired with neutral shades like white, black, gray, or navy blue that bring out the bold color. It also looks great with earthy brown tones, or with contrasting blues, yellows, and greens, as long as you contrast the intensity as well. Mustard yellow, army green, and light blue are particularly attractive color combinations for red.

What colors go with green clothes?
Green is not a common color in a man's wardrobe, but it can look amazing, especially if you choose dark shades of green or olive that look good on a man.
The simplest combinations for green are black and white, you can hardly go wrong with them. Green combined with earthy brown tones creates a look reminiscent of nature, and beige pairs especially well with green. Blue and yellow also go well together as their analogous colors, and complementary pink makes a fantastic accent color when paired with dark green.
(See my articlewhat to wear with green pantsfor more outfit ideas).

What colors go with yellow clothes?
Yellow is a color rarely used by men. It is a vibrant color that looks stunning on a man when worn in bulk. Not wearing the right yellow can also make your skin look washed out, especially if you already have a pale skin tone. For these reasons, most men avoid it altogether.
Great color combinations can be made with yellow. It works best as an accent color for accessories. Of course, if you are brave, you can opt for a yellow t-shirt, a polo shirt, shorts or even pants. You will surely make a statement. However, for the rest of your outfit, go for neutral colors like white, brown, black, or navy blue.
Yellow pairs well with green and blue and is a great accent color for red or purple clothing (although many men don't wear purple either).

What colors go well with navy blue clothing?
Navy blue clothes go well with white and light brown colors such as beige or camel. These colors offer an eye-pleasing contrast to the dark navy hue. Pink, red, and orange are fantastic additions to navy outfits and great colors to use as accents on accessories. (The navy suit with white shirt and red tie never goes out of style.) Combining dark blue with lighter shades of blue creates a muted monochrome look that is always a safe bet for men.
Navy blue is considered a neutral because it goes well with most colors, but the combinations above are particularly striking. If you wear navy blue clothing, don't wear black in bulk.

What colors go with burgundy clothes?
Burgundy is an underused yet classic men's color that pairs well with neutrals like white, gray, and tan. It can look great when paired with bright shades of blue or with accents of yellow that contrast with darker red. Despite its inherent darkness, it also pairs surprisingly well with navy blue.

What colors go well with orange clothes?
Orange is a color you don't see often in men's fashion because it's not the easiest color to mix and match and, like yellow, it doesn't suit everyone. With this in mind, men often envision orange at its most vibrant, forgetting that even with orange, they have a spectrum of shades to choose from. Rusty orange looks amazing on lighter skin types, while coral can look amazing on darker skin types.
Orange goes very well with grey, brown, black and white. You can also wear it as a decorative piece with navy green, dark red or blue or for the bravest men with violet blue or yellow.

What colors go with beige clothes?
Beige is a neutral color that goes well with any other color. It goes well with other shades of brown and looks great with greens and blues. Beige is a great summer color that can be paired with white or other light shades like mint green or sky blue. If you want to create more contrast, beige is also a great pairing with navy blue, brown, or darker shades of brown.

What colors go with pink clothes?
Many men still avoid wearing pink due to its reputation as a feminine color, but it can look amazing in perfectly masculine outfits. For example, a pink shirt looks great with a navy suit or jeans. Just start with a subtle light pink shirt if you want to dip your toes in that color first.
Light pink pairs easily with other neutral shades like navy, black, white, beige, and gray, and looks great paired with dark green. The most daring can combine a hot pink with blue violets or yellow greens.

What colors go with blue clothes?
Blue is the quintessential color when it comes to menswear because I guarantee anyone reading this already has a lot of blue in their closet. Whether it's jeans, suits, jackets or T-shirts, we tend towards blue. It is an easy color to wear. But what colors go well with blue?
You can use blue with white, black and gray. In combination with brown, it evokes seas and beaches, facilitating harmony with similar colors of cyan, turquoise and green. Finally, it offers attractive contrasts with yellow, brown, red and orange. You can hardly go wrong with blue.

What colors go with black clothes?
People often say that black goes with everything, but there are some exceptions that you should keep in mind when putting together your outfit. Combining black with other colors that are almost as dark as black itself creates an unsightly, muddy look.
If you wear black clothing with other black clothing, make sure they are the exact same shade, or one piece will look washed out. For the same reason, you should avoid using shades of gray that appear almost black. Otherwise, black goes with any other color, but it looks especially good when contrasted with bright or bold and vibrant colors.

What colors go with white clothes?
The only color you shouldn't wear with white is off-white, but then again, white goes with all colors, ie h suits all shades, all shades, all shades, and all shades . For this reason, white is the ultimate neutral and should take pride of place in your wardrobe.

What colors go with gray clothes?
Gray clothing, whether light gray or dark gray, works best with lighter or bolder colors. Gray makes colors pop, making it the best supporting color. Whether it's red, green, blue or orange, gray makes all of these colors stand out. Avoid combining gray with other muted colors as it creates a very muddy look.

What colors go with brown clothes?
Brown is a safe color that can go with almost any other color, but it goes especially well with white, blue, and green. For a bolder look you can wear brown with orange or yellow which look amazing against brown. You can also use different shades of brown as this creates a nice earthy look.
